Thank you for your interest in volunteering with us for the Holiday Market at the historic Rail Yards! We seek cheerful & hard-working elves to make this a wonderful event for ABQ and a magical experience for all who attend. Help us sprinkle some Holiday cheer in your community!! We have multiple shift opportunities over the 2 day weekend event so you can pick the time that fits your busy schedule.
DECEMBER HOLIDAY MARKET SHIFTS:
Currently our biggest need is for strong elves to help with the SUNDAY afternoon*
SATURDAY THE 14TH- 9AM to 1PM or 12PM to 4PM (EVENT OPERATIONS)
*SUNDAY THE 15TH- 1PM to 5PM (PACK DOWN) – Help our tired elves get home to a
nice hot cup of coco.
Tasks may include:
✨ Children's Zone Activities
✨ Bike Valet
✨ Greetings & Pedestrian safety
✨ Green Team
✨ Donation Station
✨ Equipment set-up and/or break-down
✨ Vendor loading or break assistance
✨ Tokens & Merch assistance
✨ Assisting with the Ugly Sweater Contest (Saturday 11am-2pm)
✨ Special projects & missions to make the event fun and smooth for everyone
Here are a few tips and tricks to maximize your experience with us for the event.
Parking
While there is parking on site and around the venue we encourage staff,
vendors, and volunteers to park at the ABQ Zoo where there is a park and ride
shuttle service that will drop you off right at the front of the market. We
have increased the number of shuttles and their hours of operation so you
should not have any problems getting to and from the market.
Checking In
Double check which day and shift you signed up for. This is a two-day event
with two shifts per day so it can get a little confusing based on our regular
season hours. Our Info Booth will be located in the Tender Repair building
located on the west end of the site. Once at the Info Booth ask for Mili and
they will check you in and assign you a task to help us out.
Weather
This is a rain or shine event that is outdoors in the middle of December so
dress accordingly and in layers to keep warm.
End of Shift
At the end of your shift please check in with us to sign out before you leave.
We will also be giving you a $5 token for your time that can be spent anywhere
at the market! We have lots of fun vendors for this event so make some time
before or after your shift to explore the market.
We are always looking for individuals who want to contribute their time and integrity through the service of volunteering. We are an inclusive space, open to all people from different walks of life that appreciate what Albuquerque has to offer in food, music, art and fun. Every Sunday the Rail Yards Market celebrates different themes and hosts fun activities, programming, and vendors.
