Who We Are

The Rail Yards Market of Albuquerque is a nonprofit, volunteer-founded growers’ market that transforms the historic Barelas Railyards into a lively community gathering every Sunday, 10am–2pm, May through October.

Launched in 2014 by neighborhood residents and cultural organizers, the market is a grassroots celebration of everything local from farm-fresh produce and handmade art to healing goods, live music, and mouthwatering New Mexican cuisine. With 175+ vendors, we uplift small businesses, preserve traditions, and showcase the incredible talent of our local makers and growers.

But we’re more than a market. We’re a community hub with family-friendly programming, kids' activities, cultural demonstrations, and a mission rooted in equity, inclusion, and connection. Whether you're coming for churros, cactus art, or just to vibe with live music under the historic steel beams, the Rail Yards Market is where Albuquerque comes to grow together.

What We Do

We rely on the heart and hustle of volunteers to help keep the market running smoothly especially at the end of the day. Our volunteer shifts run from 11:00am–3:00pm and focus on market operations and teardown.

Here’s how you can jump in:

• Pack-Out Crew: Help break down tents, signs, tables, and market gear after closing time.

• Trash Runs & Site Care: Keep the Yards clean and beautiful by rolling bins and tidying up shared spaces.

• Info Booth Support: Assist with visitor questions, market information, and light hospitality.

Whether you’re lifting, hauling, tidying, or just showing up with a good attitude, you’re part of something special. Bring a friend, stay for the vibes, and help us close out the day with corazón.

¡Gracias for supporting this vibrant community project!
