The Community Event Planner & Manager intern will play a hands-on role in organizing Asian, Pacific Islander, Native Hawaiian (APINH) community events, festivals, and cultural showcases. This position is ideal for students interested in event management, cultural programming, or nonprofit/civic leadership.
Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and coordinating APINH cultural festivals and community events.
- Support event logistics (venue coordination, scheduling, permits, supplies).
- Recruit, train, and organize volunteers for events.
- Track attendance, community participation, and post-event feedback.
- Work with City departments (Arts & Culture, Economic Development) and community partners to ensure events reflect APINH traditions and needs.
Qualifications
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Interest in cultural programming, event management, or civic engagement.
- Bilingual or multilingual skills a plus.
