Who We Are

The Office of Asian, Pacific Islander, and Native Hawaiian Affairs (APINH) seeks to cultivate a thriving and more inclusive Albuquerque where Asian, Pacific Islander, and Native Hawaiian (APINH) communities are visible, engaged, and empowered in civic, cultural, and economic life.

What We Do

The Office of APINH Affairs serves as a connector, advocate, and systems-level strategist advancing the well-being, cultural expression, and economic opportunity of APINH residents in Albuquerque.

Carlo James Aragón serves as the City of Albuquerque’s first Liaison to the APINH Communities. A former U.S. diplomat and proud New Mexican, Carlo is committed to cultivating trust between community and government. He works in partnership with local leaders to ensure APINH communities are visible, valued, and empowered across civic, cultural, and economic life.
