This understory planting is organized by Tree New Mexico (TNM) in the ABQ Mesa Village neighborhood (east side) on September 14, 2024. Volunteers plant understory plants with experienced gardeners or Master Gardeners. TNM provides instructions, tools, maps to the tree planting location, and basic planting guidance. At each location, the holes will be pre-dug, the plants to be planted and mulch is nearby, and the resident provides a hose and spigot .
Please bring water, a hat, sunscreen, and wear closed-toe shoes. Please wear your green TNM T-shirt if you have one. We will have some at the Welcome Table, while supplies last.
We will email the location and specific time to meet for sign-in two weeks before the event. This helps us communicate more effectively and limit last minute changes and communication difficulties.
Children 11-years-old and older are welcome to plant with their parent or guardian. Children 15-years-old and older can plant as adults.
