We’re looking for compassionate volunteers to assist our kitchen staff.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Assist with preparing and cooking meals and snacks
2. Assist with serving meals (serve cafeteria style)
3. Cleans and sanitizes the equipment, dishes, and food service facility to meet city and state sanitation requirements.
4. Maintain a consistently respectful, courteous, positive, cooperative, and professional demeanor with residents, coworkers, donors and others.
5. Work as an effective team member to ensure the highest quality and most relevant services are provided to residents and to help further the mission of the agency.
6. Maintain confidentiality of residents, employees and agency confidential information.
7. Follows standard operating procedures to ensure efficient food service operations.
8. Takes inventory and orders food and supplies, as directed.
9. Assist with unloading truck and putting away food and other supplies.

· Have close and distant vision capability.
· Have the ability to read typescript.
· Speak and hear face to face.

· Frequently walk and/or climb stairs.
· Use hands and fingers, handle and feel objects, tools or controls.
· Lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.· The noise level in the work environment is moderate
ACCOUNTABILITY: This volunteer position will report directly to the kitchen manager and the volunteer manager.
*This opportunity does not require a CYFD background check to be completed. If you choose to complete the background check, it will cost $62 and S.A.F.E. House will reimburse you after you have completed at least 16 hours of volunteer work. If you decide not to complete the background check, you will have to be supervised by a kitchen staff member at all times during your shift.
