The Older Americans Act Advisory Council (OAAAC) advises the city's Department of Senior Affairs on issues and policies affecting older adults in the community. The council advises the Area Agency on Aging on developing and administering the "Area Plan," conducting public hearings, and representing the interests of older persons. It reviews and comments on all community policies, programs, and actions affecting older persons to ensure maximum coordination and responsiveness. Additionally, the council reviews and comments on Area Plans and amendments submitted to the State Agency on Aging for approval of programs and services within the County.
Applications are being accepted for two At-Large positions, one Bernalillo County representative, one Healthcare Provider representative, and one Member Representative of Support Services.
