Come join us for a morning of community service in the Bosque! The National River Cleanup takes place nationally every year on the third Saturday in May. Here in ABQ, the City of Albuquerque Open Space Division and the Open Space Alliance host an annual cleanup event near the Central Avenue bridge over the Rio Grande. This year on May 18th volunteers will meet in the dirt parking lot on the north side of Central, just west of the river (map) to enjoy donated morning snacks before heading out to pick up trash along the shoreline and on the trails. Prize for the weirdest piece of trash! We’ll also hold a raffle with other prizes donated by local businesses.
Please bring sturdy footwear, work gloves, water, sunglasses and sunscreen. A hat is also recommended. Parking is very limited, so please carpool (or bike!) if you can. Hope you can join us!
If you would like to sign up as a group, or if you have questions, please contact Volunteer Program Coordinator Jenny Blackmore, jblackmore@cabq.gov, 505-768-3072.
