Volunteers Make ABQ CiQlovía Happen!
Each year ABQ CiQlovía event is powered by about 40-50 volunteers on event day, as well as many individuals who help us prepare the area in the week leading up to the event. We hope you'll join us, meet others from the neighborhood, and enjoy your city in a whole new way.
How will volunteers help out?
There are many volunteer opportunities before and during CiQlovía 2023. Volunteers will be provided with necessary materials and will be expected to complete shifts without supervision.
We encourage you to sign up to work the shift with friends or coworkers! Just send them a link to this page.
We will reach out to registered volunteers closer to the date of the event with additional details.
Route Cleanup Volunteers will:
- Pick up trash and clear weeds on the sidewalks throughout the route and surrounding area. Trash pickup materials and tools will be provided, but it is recommended to bring gloves if you have them.
What is CiQlovía?
CiQlovía is the Albuquerque version of the global phenomenon known as ciclovía or open streets. The word refers to events where city streets are closed to cars and opened up to people on foot and on bike, outdoor exercise classes, shopping, live music and other activities.
