Volunteer Opportunity: Haircare Services for Hospice Patients

Are you passionate about providing comfort and care to others? We are looking for compassionate and skilled volunteers to offer haircare services to our hospice patients. Your talent for styling and your heart for service can make a meaningful difference in someone’s final days.
Position Summary: Haircare volunteers provide grooming services to individuals in end of life. Through their skills and compassion, they help by providing haircuts, styling, and grooming services to individuals with terminal illnesses in the end of their life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Haircutting and Styling: Provide professional haircuts, trims, and styling services to clients according to their preferences and needs.
- Grooming Services: Offer additional grooming services such as beard trims, mustache shaping, and eyebrow grooming as requested by clients.
Qualifications:
- Barbering/Hairstyling License: Possession of a valid barbering or hairstyling license issued by the appropriate regulatory authority.
- Compassion: Genuine empathy and compassion for individuals facing terminal illnesses in the end of their life with a commitment to treating all clients with dignity and respect.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with diverse populations.
- Adaptability: Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic and sometimes challenging environment, responding effectively to the unique needs and circumstances of each client.
- Reliability: Dependable and punctual, with a commitment to fulfilling volunteer duties as scheduled and maintaining professionalism at all times.
Time Commitment: Flexible scheduling, with volunteers typically asked to commit to a minimum of one shift per week, based on availability.
