At Girls on the Run Rio Grande, teaching critical life skills is the cornerstone of our research-based programs. Meeting in small teams, trained volunteer coaches inspire girls of all abilities to strengthen confidence and other important life skills through dynamic, interactive lessons and physical activity. Right now girls ages 8 - 11 across the ABQ area are in the middle of their Spring season.
Each season comes to an end with a celebratory 5K. This closing event gives program participants of all abilities a tangible sense of accomplishment. Crossing the finish line instills confidence through completion and is a joyful moment program participants always remember! Everyone in our program receives a commemorative medal to celebrate this incredible achievement.
This year's event will be held on Sunday, April 23rd at Mariposa Basin Park in conjunction with RunFit's Cravin' Cookies run. We need volunteers to help with setup, course support, and cleanup. Volunteer times are from 8:30am - 11:30am (setup / course support) or 11:00am - 1:00pm (cleanup).
