ABQ Ride and the Transit Advisory Board are hosting a day of service for bus stops in the International District on Saturday, July 25th from 9am to 12pm.
Volunteers will convene at the Central and San Mateo ART stop and will canvas the Louisiana ART stop and Rt. 66 stops during this event. Transit between stops will be provided by the Sun Van, so please sign up and let us know if you're bringing friends so that we have enough
Why is it important to support the local transit system?
The transit system is a public asset and a way to get around town without needing personal transportation. While many residents prefer personal transportation, it is an important back up option to have!
Choosing public transit is a more sustainable and ecologically-friendly way to move through Albuquerque. As our world experiences more extreme weather, choosing transportation that reduces our impacts on the environment is an easy way to make a difference.
Gas prices are on the rise. As gasoline becomes more expensive, more Albuquerque residents may choose to ride the bus rather than fill up tank after tank.
An attractive system promotes ridership! Even if you don't use the bus, contributing to an attractive transit system makes it more appealing and safer for others. Help Albuquerque build and maintain a world-class transit system.
School is coming back and help make our system attractive for students from the International District who will use the bus system to get to and from school!
Tired of waiting for City Council to decide whether buses are free this year or ever?
Albuquerque buses are already free to use for Adopt-A-Stop volunteers. Service projects like this are a great way to see what volunteering with Adopt-A-Stop is like and can help get the word out about Albuquerque's free transit options. Join us for this event to speak with our Transit team about which stops need adopting (most of them), what training is required, and what next steps are needed to get your pass and ride for free!
