Description

Join the Open Space Trail Watch Volunteers

Trail Watch Volunteers are the eyes and ears of the Parks and Recreation Open Space Division.

Trail Watch volunteers receive specialized training to:

  • Understand the natural ecosystem of the high desert.
  • Contribute to the preservation of the natural and cultural environment in public spaces.
  • Ensure all users of our public spaces do no harm and leave no trace during their enjoyment of our public lands.
  • Relay critical information to the Parks and Recreation staff so they can respond quickly and appropriately when needed.

Trail Watch is a foundational training for Open Space volunteers who work for the department in any capacity. All volunteers interested in partnering with the City of Albuquerque Open Space Division are encouraged to sign up for these training.

Upcoming training dates will be listed here. Open Space staff will be in touch to share all necessary application and training logistics with you when available.

During COVID-19, all trainings will be held via teleconference. Log in info will be sent to volunteers who register.
