Volunteer Water Testing Technician - Get trained. Get certified. Help your community.
The AI Living Lab is looking for volunteers who want hands-on experience in community water testing while building professional skills they can take with them. As a volunteer, you will work with our Community Water Testing Lab and have opportunities to participate in water testing throughout the community.
But this opportunity goes beyond volunteering. We will train you to prepare for the Level 1 Water Testing Technician exam with the Water Authority so you can take the exam and become certified on your own.
You will learn:
* How to properly collect water samples
* How to conduct basic water-quality testing
* How to use water-testing and laboratory equipment
* How to document and understand test results
* How to work with residents on community water-testing projects
* The knowledge and skills needed to prepare for the Level 1 exam
Once trained, you can continue volunteering on community water-testing projects and use our Community Water Testing Lab to help test water in your own community.
No previous water-testing or laboratory experience is required. Training is provided.
