United Voices for Newcomer Rights (UVNR) is seeking volunteers to help support our annual “Around the World in 5K” Fundraiser, a community event that celebrates cultural diversity while raising funds to support newcomer families in Albuquerque.
UVNR is a community-led nonprofit that works with immigrants, refugees, asylum seekers, and other newcomer communities to improve access to resources, strengthen leadership, and promote community well-being. This event brings together community members from many cultures to run, walk, connect, and celebrate.
Volunteers play an essential role in making this event welcoming, organized, and fun for all participants.
Volunteer Roles May 2nd include:
-
Event set-up and check-in support
-
Registration and participant guidance
-
Course direction and safety monitoring
-
Water station support
-
Raffle table and activity stations (henna, cultural booths, etc.)
-
Clean-up and breakdown after the event
No prior experience is required—just a willingness to help and engage with a diverse community.
This is a great opportunity for individuals, students, families, and community groups who want to support newcomers and be part of a joyful multicultural event.
