*This opportunity will require a CYFD background check to be completed. This will cost $60, but S.A.F.E. House will reimburse you after you have completed at least 16 hours of volunteer work if you choose. The background check will take up to 2 weeks to return.

We’re looking for compassionate volunteers to assist our kitchen staff in preparing and serving meals for our residents. Volunteers help with meal prep about an hour - 2 hours before serving, serve meals during scheduled times, and clean-up for about 30 minutes - 1 hour afterward.
Meal Service Times for Residents: Daily

Breakfast: 8:00 am – 9:00 am

Lunch: 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm

Dinner: 4:30 pm – 5:30 pm

Flexible shifts – choose the days and meals that work best for you. Volunteers can work anywhere from 3-8 hour shifts. Feel free to write in the comment box what availability you have or in the volunteer application once it is sent to you. The volunteer manager will get back to you as soon as possible!
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Assist with preparing and cooking meals and snacks
2. Assist with serving meals (serve cafeteria style)
3. Cleans and sanitizes the equipment, dishes, and food service facility to meet city and state sanitation requirements.
4. Maintain a consistently respectful, courteous, positive, cooperative, and professional demeanor with residents, coworkers, donors and others.
5. Work as an effective team member to ensure the highest quality and most relevant services are provided to residents and to help further the mission of the agency.
6. Maintain the confidentiality of residents, employees and agency confidential information.
7. Follows standard operating procedures to ensure efficient food service operations.
8. Takes inventory and orders food and supplies, as directed.
9. Assist with unloading trucks and putting away food and other supplies.
