We are looking for energetic and enthusiastic volunteers to help customers at the Monthly Book Sale pack up and take out their purchases. The Monthly Book Sale is a major source of funding for the Friends of the Public Library, funding that goes directly to supporting the vital programs of the Library.
The Monthly Book Sale is on the second Saturday of each month (for example December 14th). Volunteer shifts are 9:30 am to 1:30 pm or 12:30 to 3:30 pm.
Volunteers do not need to work every month, but we do ask that they are communicative and consistent with their scheduling.
No supplies are needed, but this is a demanding, physical task. You will be packing used books in boxes and bags. Then the books are taken through a backroom and up to customers via elevator (on carts or in bins) then loaded into the customers cars. Please wear clothes that can get dirty and closed-toe shoes. We have gloves and masks, as well as hand sanitizer.
