Who We Are

Established in 1969, the Friends of the Public Library is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization that collaborates with the CABQ/Bernco Public Library by funding educational and literacy programs, such as the popular Summer Reading Program, staff development, and community outreach.

What We Do

The Friends of the Public Library is looking for enthusiastic, energetic, book-and-library-loving volunteers!

Through working in the Bookshop, the monthly Book Sale, the online store, (and beyond), CABQ-FOPL volunteers are the cornerstone of our work bringing much-needed funding and resources to the Library.

We rely entirely on our City volunteers to run and maintain these activities, led by the Administrative Coordinator. And we're in search of dedicated folks to help us support the FOPL mission, both long and short-term.

Let us know where your skills and interests lie, and we’ll find the right fit for you!
