International District Library is in need of warm clothes, menstrual products, water bottles, and light snacks! We keep water bottles and snacks up at the front desk for our patrons who need them throughout the day, as well as basic clothing. We have two boxes with menstrual products out on our shelves for anyone to grab for free when they need- we restock them with donated materials. As we head into the colder months, warmer clothes will be needed. We only have a limited supply of each of these categories, and would love to keep these very important and essential resources available for our community members, especially during the month of November as SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) and other government-funded assistance will be unavailable to those who need access to them!
Our needs are as follows:
-Warm Clothes (long-sleeve shirts, jackets, sweaters, coats, thermal pants/shirts, sweats)
-Blankets
-Sturdy socks (for warmth and long-lasting daily usage)
-Emergency blankets
-Hand and feet warmers
-Underwear (men's and women's, all sizes)
-Tampons (super/heavy size preferred)
-Menstrual pads (super/overnight preferred)
-Hygiene kit materials
-Water bottles
-Mixed nuts
-Other non-perishable, individually packaged snacks that contain protein like tuna snack packs, granola and breakfast bars, etc.
Feel free to come in during business hours to drop off donations at the front desk.
Thank you so much for your support of International District Library and our community!
