Description

2nd Saturday 2020 Yearly Reopening

In February of 2020, Casa San Ysidro reopens for the year to celebrate over 20 years as a public museum. Bring the family to learn about New Mexican culture, heritage, art, architecture, agriculture, and traditions. The historic property provides the community with a link to the lived past of Corrales that allows for people of all ages to experience what life was like for early settlers along the Rio Grande.

The day will feature a lecture from the Santa Fe Museum of Spanish Colonial Art on how trails had changed the colonial art world and a presentation from the National Hispanic Cultural Center on ‘Mundos de Mestizaje’, an exhibit in images in fresco demonstrating the complex history of Hispanic/Latino identity. Second Saturdays are free programs that communicate the values in a responsibility dedicated to keeping heritage alive within the community.

                                                Free                                         1:00 – 4:00 PM
