The New Mexico YMCA Youth & Government Scholarship Fund helps ensure that every student has access to transformative civic education experiences, regardless of their financial circumstances.
Funds raised through this campaign provide scholarships that enable students from across New Mexico to participate in state and national Youth & Government conferences focused on civic engagement, leadership development, public policy, and democratic participation. Through these programs, students gain hands-on experience in the legislative, judicial, and executive branches of government, develop public speaking and critical thinking skills, and engage in meaningful dialogue about issues affecting their communities, state, and nation.
Scholarship support helps cover conference registration fees, travel expenses, lodging, and program costs for students attending New Mexico Youth & Government events as well as national programs such as the Conference on National Affairs (CONA), the National Judicial Competition (NJC), and other leadership opportunities.
