Center for Democracy and Civic Education

The Center for Democracy & Civic Education (NMCDCE) is a statewide nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening civic education for all New Mexicans. For more than 20 years, we have partnered with the Center for Civic Education to support high-quality civic learning, including the nationally recognized We the People program. Today, we continue that legacy while building new partnerships and opportunities that reflect New Mexico's unique history, cultures, and systems of government.

The Center for Democracy and Civic Education (NMCDCE) connects educators, students, and communities with the resources, training, and programs they need to become informed and engaged citizens. We provide professional learning for educators, support student civic engagement, develop curriculum and classroom resources, build partnerships with schools and community organizations, and promote civic literacy through programs that encourage thoughtful participation in local, tribal, state, and national democracy.
