Civilian Police Oversight Advisory Board

Who We Are

We are looking for Albuquerque residents from all backgrounds who are interested in public safety, accountability, and civic engagement.

What We Do

The Civilian Police Oversight Advisory Board (CPOAB) is a five-member board appointed by the City Council. The Board reviews investigations into complaints involving APD personnel, makes policy recommendations, and hears public comment at monthly meetings. Board members serve three-year terms. The CPOAB meets on the second Thursday of each month at 5:00 PM in the Vincent E. Griego Chambers at City Hall. Serving on the CPOAB is a meaningful way to contribute to public safety, accountability, and police oversight at the local level.
