Who We Are
The City of Albuquerque's Cruisers for Route 66 Program (modeled off of the City's Adopt-A-Median program) provides local car clubs and community organizations the opportunity to adopt stretches of Central Ave. to lead community cleanups in celebration of the Route 66 Centennial.
The program is intended to empower local community members to take an active role in beautifying and maintaining stretches of Central Ave. not only during the Centennial Celebration, but also providing a vehicle for building community pride and engagement for many years to come.
This program is a partnership between CABQ Solid Waste Department and the transit department.
What We Do
Through the program, participating groups "adopt" a designated stretch of Central Avenue and commit to organizing periodic litter cleanups throughout the year. These volunteer-led efforts help create a cleaner, more welcoming corridor for residents, visitors, and the thousands of travelers who will experience Route 66 during the Centennial celebration and beyond.
