Who We Are
The APS Clothing Bank, together with our community partners and donors, promotes dignity and confidence in students by ensuring access to essentials that support learning and success.
· We serve more than 3,800 students each year across Albuquerque.
· Our mission: no student should miss a day of school due to inappropriate or inadequate clothing or school supplies.
· When families have the resources to replace outgrown clothing and shoes, students:
o Arrive at school prepared and comfortable
o Feel confident and engaged
o Participate fully in learning
o Contribute to a positive school climate
What We Do
Our model is unique and designed to support both students and families.
- How requests work:
- School staff (teachers, counselors, nurses, social workers, community school impact coordinators, family liaisons, and others) may submit a request.
- Students and families can also reach out directly to any school staff member to share a need.
- Quick turnaround: Items are processed and delivered directly to the school—usually within a week.
- Discreet delivery: School staff provide items to students with care and respect, ensuring dignity.
- Wraparound support: This process also allows staff to notice and connect families with additional resources to strengthen wellbeing.
The result: Students have what they need to focus on their strengths, explore their potential, and thrive in school and beyond.
