The ABQ BioPark is home to several underwater habitats for animals ranging from sharks to penguins to otters. Underwater habitats have special requirements for care and maintenance of these habitats which generally require SCUBA diving to achieve maximum cleanliness and appearance for guests to view. Currently, BioPark Animal Care Staff need assistance from qualified volunteers that can help keep up the appearance of these habitats!

What We Do

NOTE: The volunteer diving program is not currently operating, but if you would like to express interest and stay up to date, please e-mail the programmanager: mgramazio@cabq.gov

The ABQ BioPark Volunteer Diving Program is designed to provide volunteer divers the opportunity to assist the BioPark animal care staff with underwater habitat maintenance.  Cleaning underwater structures in various habitats is a constant work effort and with your help we can keep these habitats above and beyond the expectations of our guests. Come join in the fun that is scuba diving in habitats full of animals and in the view of guests!
