Who We Are

We began in 1956 as a creative force for international cooperation and goodwill. Our participation started in 1965 as Albuquerque Sister Cities Committee and became Albuquerque Sister Cities Foundation in 1983. We are a 501(c)(3) (nonprofit) corporation. A part of Albuquerque Economic Development Department, we serve to implement the city ordinance requiring "the promotion and encouragement of private and public program to further the development of greater friendship and understanding between the people of Albuquerque and cities of other nations".

What We Do

People-to-people interaction through mutual respect and cooperation one individual, one community at a time. Outbound delegations from Albuquerque to our sister cities Inbound delegations from our sister cities MOU are signed on agreed programs and projects related to Citizen Diplomacy, Education, Technology Exchanges, Humanitarian, Arts/Cultural, and Economic initiatives
