Ancora’s Vision and purpose of providing Behavioral Health Services including Substance Use Counseling, Comprehensive Community Support Services (CCSS) and Peer Support is to surround clients and their families with the services and resources necessary to promote recovery, rehabilitation, and resiliency. Ancora and its closely associated community partner Perfectly Imperfect, LLC [hereinafter “Perfectly Imperfect”] help provide behavioral health, educational and training services as clients transition from being unhoused, incarceration, opioid and other addiction, and behavioral health circumstances. By offering Behavioral Health Services and a secure Peer Support Drop-in Center and a secure environment for completing community service hours and participating in community support activities, Ancora believes it can address specific goals in the areas of independent living, learning, working, socializing, and recreation. The intention is to improve the quality of life for individuals and their families, enhance their economic stability, reduce gun violence in our communities and the likelihood of relapse and returning to jail. Ancora’s mission is to offer Behavioral Health Services, a Peer Support Drop-in Center and provide counseling, coaching and assistance to help clients identify and coordinate services and support for them and their families, by enabling them to make informed and independent choices. Ancora delivers various interventions, primarily face-to-face and in community locations, to address barriers that hinder the development of skills required for independent functioning in the community and to increase the quality of community members lives. Additionally, Ancora provides community members with the necessary educational and training services to acquire marketable skills, which will help them achieve economic stability. The program includes opportunities to operate a Café, hold recovery groups, host social events, learn life skills, and participate in recreational activities. Ancora program participants also receive CCSS and Peer Support resource planning, referral services, and assistance transitioning throughout the program and into independent employment and living. Ancora believes this program will help move our community closer to a future free from gun violence.
