Who We Are
The Duke City Lowrider Bike Club provides mentorship for high school and middle school students. The program is composed of community mentors, the Lowrider community, the City's Police Department, and the Bernalillo Sheriffs office.
The after school program is offered through the City of Albuquerque's Youth and Family Services Department.
What We Do
The Albuquerque Duke City Lowrider Bike Club is an educational program for students in the 6th-12th grade.
The students will learn and be introduced to a variety of trades such as paint and bodywork, custom art, patterns and designs, pinstriping, welding, fabrication, leatherwork and upholstery.
Through the building of a bike students will also learn socialization skills, group management, responsibilities, work ethic, leadership and life skills.
The program will open a safe space for students, volunteers, and mentors to come together to share their experiences, creativity, and expertise to address community issues.
