Who We Are
Running 505 is a grassroots, non-competitive, wellness program for youth. We collaborate with the community at large to encourage our youth to live healthy lifestyles. Running505 is designed for youth to learn from, get motivated with, and become inspired by volunteer mentors, through educational lessons, and through physical activity. This program is for kids in the 5th-8th grades. Mentors are asked to participate each week at one of our locations (see above, or at our website) for the season. Volunteer mentors also are able to be registered for our monthly fun races, and get a ticket to our annual gala fundraiser!
What We Do
Supporting youth in health, wellness, and walking/running through education programs, after school running time, and monthly fun runs with IRunFit.
From September-May we are with kids for 1 hour. First part of the class a lead mentor goes through a lesson with the kids and mentor volunteers. The remaining time, we run/walk through the neighborhoods and/or play games at the school location.
