Who We Are
Since 1972, PB&J has been helping at-risk children develop to their full potential in nurturing families within supportive communities in Bernalillo and Sandoval Counties and surrounding pueblos. PB&J works with families with young children 0-5 that are at-risk of or already experiencing at least one Adverse Childhood Experience (ACE) such as child abuse & neglect, incarceration of a family member, and environmental risk-factors such as substance abuse, mental disabilities, and other adversities. Key services include therapeutic and developmental support, Pre-K, home-visiting, reunification services, parenting classes, as well as services for families impacted by incarceration and juvenile community corrections. Our program works with children and parents together to cohesively address environmental conditions in the home, provide parenting skills training, and conduct comprehensive case management to ensure protective factors against abuse are maximized while risk factors are reduced. Outcomes include child safety, preservation of the family whenever possible, optimal child development, and children’s readiness for success in school and life. Thanks to a dedicated staff, board of directors, and community, we were able to serve over 800 families in FY 2020.
