We provide a safe and engaging day for adults and seniors who may be frail, elderly, physically or developmentally disabled, suffering from Alzheimer's, Dementia, Parkinson's and/or are otherwise vulnerable and in need of day-time care and supervision. We also provide the imperative benefit of Respite to their Family Members and Caregivers. Adult Day Services have been proven to maintain and improve the health, quality of life, autonomy and overall well-being of participants and their caregivers by providing a safe and stimulating place for vulnerable adults to be during the day, while serving the dual purpose of providing much needed Caregiver Respite for our clients’ family members and Caregivers. Adult Day Services also delay and/or prevent the need for institutional care, and unlike in-home care, they circumvent the crippling and compounding effects of isolation that our participants would otherwise suffer by being left alone all day. Adult Day Services encourage participants get people out of their homes and to engage with their peers, in their community and the world around them. Caregiver Respite allows Caregivers and Family Members the time to work, shop, socialize and attend to their own needs and helps alleviate the financial, physical, emotional and time burdens of full-time caregiving. This respite decreases family members’ and caregivers’ likelihood of mental/physical illnesses, exhaustion and self-neglect- conditions that would create their own health threats including heart disease, diabetes, and cancer. Improved health and overall well-being for the participants and their Family Members/Caregivers, and diminished stress on their relationships help Share Your Care keep our communities’ families happy, healthy, and together.
