Who We Are
New Mexico citizen volunteers who sew for the good of our community.
What We Do
During the height of the 2020 health emergency period, us and over 100 seamstresses, experienced and amateur sewists dedicated their time to assemble fabric masks, ear savers, scrub caps, and other support items. We also delivered completed units to those in high risk or front line healthcare workers and essential personnel of the City of Albuquerque. The hard job to coordinate materials donations, matched to volunteers, mobilize packs assembled with care, and even think beyond these very important people was done with love and pride.
We are twice recognized by the City of Albuquerque. Once as a group as Volunteer of the Month of September 2020, and twice for one of our core members in behalf of each and every one of the amazing people who made this movement possible. The award of Volunteer of the Year 2022, Outstanding Pandemic Response was granted by the One Albuquerque initiative to celebrate having made close to 100,000 items with the protection and betterment of the community in mind and heart.
Thank you to all the volunteers of the past, and welcome to new crafter who can help us keep the spirit of craftivism alive. We count on you!
