Important: Children and families experience customized services that highlight their unique value and importance.
History: My son, James, is my biggest hero. James had many complex medical problems and yet smiled and lived a full life through it all. In December 2018, James died on hospice after a year of decline. We had to get most of his services in Denver, CO because they weren't available in New Mexico. These experiences have motivated us to provide the same kind of compassionate, professional medical help to families like ours. Home-based palliative care services would have addressed many of the needs our family had throughout James' life, promoting quality of life, collaboration among specialists, and support for our other children and us as parents. James' story is not unique. In fact, there are three families represented on our Board of Directors who have faced these unmet needs in their own personal journeys with their children. James' strength, perseverance, and endurance motivates us to live the same way. We desire to continue his legacy through offering these services to others, compassionately.
What We Do
We will provide home-based pediatric palliative care with a specialized medical team and volunteers to children and families with serious illness in New Mexico. This includes education, 24/7 medical care, goal planning, pain and symptom management, and care coordination.
