Lutheran Family Services Rocky Mountains

Who We Are

Lutheran Family Services Rocky Mountains has been resettling refugees in the Rockies region since 1975 through Global Refuge (formerly LIRS). We have offices in Las Cruces, Denver, Fort Collins, Greely, Colorado Springs, Billings, and Salt Lake City. The Refugee & Asylee Program here in Albuquerque aims to help refugees in Albuquerque and throughout northern New Mexico obtain a secure and stable environment on their way to self-sufficiency.

What We Do

We provide the basics for their initial resettlement here as well as: ESL classes, summer-school programming, job placement, career advancement, savings match, small-business loans, access to plots at Tres Hermanas Farm, personalized case-management, and more.

We cannot do our job without the help of our wonderful volunteers. Our volunteer needs include but are not limited to: transportation of clients to health appointments and other meetings, mentoring, ESL tutoring, after-school tutoring, career mentoring, farm work, and office tasks.

To volunteer with us, please fill out the application here.

You will be contacted by the Volunteer and Community Engagement Coordinator for a background check and to receive training once the application is complete.
