Who We Are
For Goodness Cakes is a nonprofit which matches volunteers to bake and deliver birthday and academic-graduation cakes to disadvantaged youth and young adults in their local communities. We are a network of local volunteers, bakers, and agencies working together to make celebrations special for the youth in the community that need it the most.
What We Do
We use an online data management system, which pairs with an online food safety course. Once new volunteers have passed the food safety course, they have access to a calendar showing all available cakes from all agencies. Details include as much, or as little, as agencies can give to protect the integrity of their client’s privacy, what flavors of cake and frosting they would like, special interests or favorite colors/characters, what date the cake must be delivered, etc. This information allows volunteers to choose cakes they can bake and deliver at their convenience. Cakes are dropped off at the requesting agencies drop location to an employee so as to protect the children’s privacy.
