

Who We Are
RSVP is one of the largest volunteer networks in the nation for people 55 and over. Volunteers can use the skills and talents they've learned over the years, or develop new ones while serving in a variety of volunteer activities within the community.
Service opportunities are diverse, and may include:
- Building Capacity for city departments and non-profit organizations
- Addressing food insecurity and poverty
- Providing senior transportation for medical appointments and grocery shopping
- Delivering meals to home bound seniors,
- and so much more!

What We Do
RSVP is a program of AmeriCorps Seniors. It is sponsored locally by the City of Albuquerque, Department of Senior Affairs, and receives additional funding from the New Mexico Aging and Long-Term Care Services Department. The purpose of RSVP is to recruit and facilitate the placement of volunteers, over the age of 55, in public, government, and non-profit organizations to meet community needs.
Approximately 400 volunteers serve in the Albuquerque metropolitan area through RSVP. RSVP volunteers impact our community by providing support services to 64 community agencies/programs. Volunteers also work on one-time special events projects.
RSVP’s primary goal is to invest in Healthy Futures for Older Adults in the areas of Transportation, Nutrition, and Outreach. Volunteers also serve in a wide variety of placements with public and non-profit agencies including schools, hospitals, museums, senior centers, frail elderly programs, police departments, juvenile programs, social services, food pantries, senior transportation programs, meals on wheels, and environmental projects.
RSVP volunteers:
* Are age 55 and over
* Offer considerable talents, expertise, and experience to organizations
* Report their hours monthly
* Must submit City of Albuquerque Background Investigation Waiver and Release
Form RSVP benefits include:
* Supplemental accident and liability coverage while on duty
