Office of Civic Engagement

We are the One Albuquerque Volunteers team. We manage the city-wide volunteer program, One Albuquerque Volunteer Advisory Board, and implement the Mayor's vision for community engagement. Our office is designed to turn city government inside out--we believe that everyone in our community has an active role to play in collectively solving Albuquerque's greatest challenges.

Our office is charged with fundamentally changing the way our city operates. Our government should not be separate from the community we serve. To that end, we are opening up our work to facilitate community engagement and citizen input in new ways. We have opportunities for citizen action in each and every city department.

Citizen-government interaction is not our only priority. We want to build a civic space where we can aggregate and leverage our human capital across neighborhoods, industries, and interests to promote city-wide engagement and collective problem solving.
