What to Bring:

The Department of Health, Housing and Homelessness is recruiting volunteers to serve a buffet-style Thanksgiving meal at Gateway West on Thursday, November 27th, 2025 for clients in our care.

Volunteers may help set up, serve food, welcome guests, and clean up after the meal. Pick a shift that works for you and click 'Respond'!

3:00-6:00pm - Assist with setup, ensure serving supplies are ready, and prepare pies for service.

4:00-7:00pm - Volunteers with gloves and hairnets may help serve the main meal. 

6:00-8:00pm - If you are available, help us box leftovers and clean up after dinner.

This event is a truly meaningful way to give back and connect with people in the community during the holidays. Volunteers do not need any experience, just bring a positive attitude and be ready to help out!

Together, we will make this Thanksgiving warm and welcoming for everyone!

Gateway Recovery is one of the City’s newest programs to help people experiencing homelessness and substance use disorder.

There are dozens of clients living in a micro-community that provides onsite behavioral health treatment, case management, and housing navigation.

If you are willing to spend some time with us this holiday season, we could use your help serving Thanksgiving dinner. Please, click ‘Respond’ to sign up for a shift that works for you.

Native Health Initiative is seeking volunteers for our 10th Annual Gratitude Run/Walk taking place on Thanksgiving morning (11/27/25) at Arroyo del Oso Park. We're seeking general event volunteers and course ambassadors. Help direct the projected 1500 attendees on this marvelous gathering of community and thanks.

There will be a brief volunteer training on 11/26 for volunteers to receive instructions and placement for the day of the event. All volunteers get an orange Gratitude Run/Walk volunteer long sleeve shirt.
