Join the City of Albuquerque's Volunteers in Action Program (VIA) as we honor and thank our local first responders for their dedication, sacrifice, and service to our community.

Volunteers will assist with distributing snacks and beverages to first responders and help share volunteer program information with community members attending the event. 

Volunteer Duties

Assist with event setup and cleanup.

Distribute snacks and beverages to first responders.

Hand out Volunteers in Action informational flyers.

Senior Affairs, Volunteers in Action is looking for people to help North Domingo Baca Multigenerational Center with their Fright night this year 2026!

Volunteers will assist with distributing candy and treats from their vehicle trunks, running the game stations,greeting guests, helping serve food and ensuring a welcoming environment for all attendees.

The Santa Barbara Senior Center is seeking enthusiastic volunteers to help with our annual Trunk-or-Treat Event. This fun-filled community celebration brings together seniors, families, and children for a safe and festive Halloween experience.

The Department of Senior Affairs (DSA), in partnership with the Animal Welfare Department, launched the PETS (Pets & Elderly Together Succeed) Initiative—and we need volunteers like YOU to make a real difference in our community!

Many seniors rely on their beloved pets for companionship, comfort, and joy. With your help, we can ensure they have the support they need to care for their furry family members.

Deliver Pet Food: Pick up food supplies from the Eastside Animal Welfare Department and deliver them to the Senior Affairs Transportation Office.

Organize Supplies: Sort and organize pet food bags by delivery routes to prepare for distribution.

Ability to lift boxes of pet food weighing up to 100 lbs.

Your time and effort will go a long way in helping seniors and their pets stay healthy, happy, and together.

We are looking for individuals to help paint the lumbers we use in ramp construction for our seniors.

It will be a fun and engaging time with us.
