Get ready to be a part of something truly spectacular! The City of Albuquerque Solid Waste Management Department and Keep Albuquerque Beautiful, in partnership with Imagine ABQ, proudly present the Fiesta Fanatics Cleanup Event. This exciting community-driven event takes place one week ahead of the 54th annual Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta as we prepare to celebrate together during the best time of year in Albuquerque.

Join us in our efforts by organizing a cleanup in your neighborhood. The Solid Waste Management Department will provide supplies and pickup for cleanups scheduled anywhere in the city. Our goal is to make our beautiful communities shine as we get ready for our favorite time of year, the world-renowned Balloon Fiesta, and we need your help to make it happen!

Supplies include:

Pickups for the event will be scheduled for one central location per neighborhood cleanup. All bags will be transported for disposal by members of the Solid Waste Management Department Clean Cities division.

Join us at Balloon Fiesta Park as we unite neighborhood associations, school groups, local businesses, and faith-based groups in a massive cleanup ahead of Balloon Fiesta. Our goal is to make our beautiful city shine as we get ready for our favorite time of year, the world-renowned Balloon Fiesta, and we need your help to make it happen!

As a Fiesta Fanatic, you'll be among the first to kick off the festivities for this year's Balloon Fiesta. Volunteers will receive free lunch at the event. Additionally, there will be various giveaways thanks to our partners at the Parks and Recreation Department throughout the day.

This is your chance to celebrate early, connect with fellow community members, and showcase your Albuquerque pride.

Calling all organizers, planners, and community champions — we need volunteer coordinators for our Summer FixIt Clinic!

Keep Albuquerque Beautiful, in partnership with FUSE Makerspace, is gearing up for our next Summer FixIt Clinic on Saturday, August 8, and we're looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help keep the event running smoothly behind the scenes.

Volunteer coordinators play a vital role in making the clinic a success. Coordinators assist with event logistics, including set-up and tear down, volunteer and participant check-in, organizing materials and workspaces, coordinating repair services, directing attendees, and supporting other event needs as they arise throughout the day.

Our last clinic welcomed nearly 100 participants and helped repair almost 200 items—and we're excited to make this summer's event even bigger.

If you enjoy organizing events, solving problems, working with people, and helping create meaningful community experiences, we'd love to have you join our team as a volunteer coordinator.

Dash for the Trash is an exciting community event hosted by Keep Albuquerque Beautiful and the City of Albuquerque Solid Waste Management Department, combining environmental stewardship, friendly competition, and outdoor recreation to help beautify our beloved Bosque.

This isn't your traditional cleanup! Participants will hit the trails on foot through designated areas of the Bosque with one goal in mind: collect as much litter as possible. Individuals and teams will compete to see who can remove the most trash and debris, with prizes awarded to the top individual collectors and the top-performing groups.

The competitive element adds a fun twist while highlighting an important message: every piece of litter removed makes a difference. Whether you're a seasoned cleanup volunteer or simply looking for a unique way to give back to your community, Dash for the Trash offers everyone an opportunity to make a tangible impact.

The Bosque is one of Albuquerque's most cherished natural resources and requires continual care and stewardship. By transforming a community cleanup into a friendly competition, we hope to inspire more residents to get outside, get active, and take pride in protecting our environment.

Calling all fixers, makers, and repair pros — we need coaches for our Summer FixIt Clinic!

Keep Albuquerque Beautiful, in partnership with Fuse Makerspace, is gearing up for our next Summer FixIt Clinic on Saturday, August 8, and we’re looking for skilled volunteers to help community members bring their broken items back to life.

At the FixIt Clinic, residents bring household items like bikes, electronics, small appliances, sewing projects, jewelry, and more to learn how to repair them alongside experienced coaches. It’s a hands-on opportunity to share skills, reduce waste, keep usable items out of the landfill, and help build a more sustainable Albuquerque.

Our last clinic welcomed nearly 100 participants and helped repair almost 200 items—and we’re excited to make this summer’s event even bigger.

If you have experience with sewing, woodworking, leatherwork, electronics, small appliances, jewelry repair, or general fixing and troubleshooting, we’d love to have you join us as a coach.
