Interested participants need only sign up through the Lasagna Love portal, complete brief online training associated with safe food preparation, and share how often they wish to participate. Volunteers participate as much or as little as desired -- whether one-time, weekly, or monthly. This flexible model allows each individual to give when and how they wish. Clubs and organizations are welcome to partner with Lasagna Love on either a one-time basis or through an ongoing partnership. Our team is available to assist with specifics such as frequency, number of meals and options for delivery.

Breakfast Shift 8-10am Lunch shift 10:30-12:30pm

Prepping and/or serving meals

Cooking (if you’re comfortable)

Restocking and sorting food

Distributing groceries and checking in clients on the computer (Fridays,

Bussing tables

Assisting with general cleanup as needed

Dishwashing as needed

MoGro Mobile Grocery is a nonprofit mobile grocery based in Albuquerque. Our main goal is to make nourishing food accessible to more families in central New Mexico by removing barriers of distance and cost that can inhibit access to healthy eating. We also work to buy as much of the food we distribute from small local farmers to make sure that as much of the funding spent on these programs is returned to the communities we serve in multiple ways.

We help to make healthy food more accessible by working with partners like Tribal communities, Presbyterian Community Health, Three Sisters Kitchen, CNM, and UNM Truman Health Center to provide their clients and community members with bags of fresh, healthy, and local food. With large volumes of produce going so many different directions, we first bring it all to Roadrunner Food Bank, where we rent space to pack our bags and store our food, to sort, pack and redistribute.

This is where YOU come in! We need help packing our produce and grocery bags for our partner organizations. We pack every Tuesday from 2:30 - 6:30pm at Roadrunner Food Bank.

The Rio Grande Food Project operates weekly free food distribution events every Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday morning from 9-11 am. Volunteers arrive at 8:30 and finish by 11:15 am.

The Food Project is seeking regular weekly volunteers to assist guests in transporting food boxes to their vehicles using grocery carts and, as requested, assist in loading food into guest vehicles. Volunteers may be asked to stoop, bend, push, pull, and lift boxes weighing up to 25 (twenty-five) pounds.

Volunteers at the Roadrunner Food Pantry will assist community members in a variety of ways.  Volunteers must be 16 years or older and will be cross trained to fulfill any of the following tasks as needed:

Want to help Meals on Wheels feed the hungry and homebound of New Mexico?
Join us as a volunteer and make a real difference in our community!

Just one shift per week helps provide meals to over 1,000 citizens of Albuquerque and Rio Rancho. Our drivers deliver Monday through Friday between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm — and for about 85% of our clients, you're the only friendly face they'll see that day.

We deliver out of three convenient sites in the Albuquerque and Rio Rancho areas, so you won’t have to travel far to get involved.

Driver Volunteers: Deliver meals to clients in your area.

Kitchen Volunteers: Help us prepare meals in the mornings before delivery. A great way to support our mission if you'd rather be behind the scenes!

If you're interested in becoming a volunteer, attend one of our in-person training sessions, held every Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 am.
You’ll also have the opportunity to go on a ride-along with an experienced driver to help you feel confident and supported on your route.

Driver Volunteers:

Must be 18 years or older

Have a valid driver’s license and current auto insurance

Kitchen Volunteers:

Must be at least 14 years old with a parent or guardian

Or 16 years and older to volunteer independently
