Ambassadors help riders feel confident navigating the ABQ RIDE transit system with schedule, timing and directional information while promoting safety and good customer service. They serve as a welcoming presence on buses and at transit centers, and their support will improve efficiency, reduce confusion, and foster a sense of community among passengers. Whether helping with route information, directional assistance, or offering a friendly smile, ABQ RIDE Ambassadors make public transit more accessible and enjoyable for everyone.

Ambassadors must be confident in their duties and environment. For this purpose, we have designed a comprehensive training to help you will the appropriate skills that will help you deal with any situation that may arise. Initially we will be conducting in-person training at the David Rusk facility on Yale at St. Cyr. With 6 different modules, training will take 2 days of 4 hours each for completion. When you are qualified to respond to this opportunity, you will get access to more detailed information and scheduling availability for the training. Initial spots for the program launch are limited. If you don't receive training information soon, you will in the near future. Thanks in advance for your patience and understanding.

The qualifications needed at this moment are listed at the bottom. If you haven't requested a background check yet, you will be prompted to complete it when you click on RESPOND at the top of this page. A pop-up window will appear that looks like this:

Make sure to click on the 3rd party link, submit all fields required with your legal name, and then return to this website to click on radio button and click submit qualifications from that window or at the bottom of the list on the QUALIFICATIONS section of your profile. Use your legal name on both your background check and the oneABQvolunteer website. If it's not matching, current and correct, please go back and change your username. By doing this you can help us identify and associate your background check when the results come back. It can take 7-15 business days. The other forms that require your signature are approved immediately.
