Opportunities From: One Albuquerque Volunteers

Participate as an ABQ RIDE Ambassador during  Events and Outreach opportunities. You already know the awesome things we do at the Transit department, so help us spread the word about our services and volunteer opportunities with the public. 

Events and dates will be shared on a need to know basis. This opportunity has been created for ABQ RIDE Ambassadors ONLY to log your historical hours and any time from now on.

If you have completed time as an ambassador on a bus, bus station or transportation center, those activities have their own opportunity and your response on the corresponding activity helps us keep track of how you spend your time volunteering. Please log your hours for everything else in their corresponding opportunity, even if it's more difficult to do it after the fact.

Please respond to this opportunity if you have ever been at an event or if you plan to in the future. If you respond in anticipation you can check-in when you're at the events on the Causer app. The opportunity will show under your calendar section and have a button for Check-in and Check-out. Those hours are sent automatically and there's no need of further action if going through the app.

Participate as an ABQ RIDE Ambassador by posting at one of our ART bus station or Transportation Centers. You will be providing all the services you are already trained on while stationed at one of the following locations:

Ambassadors help riders feel confident navigating the ABQ RIDE transit system with schedule, timing and directional information while also educating about transit apps like SEE SAY, ABQ RIDE GO!, and the Transit App. This service promotes safety and good customer service. They serve as a welcoming presence on buses and at transit centers, and their support improves efficiency, reduces confusion, and fosters a sense of community among passengers. Whether helping with route information, directional assistance, or offering a friendly smile, ABQ RIDE Ambassadors make public transit more accessible and enjoyable for everyone.

Ambassadors must be confident in their duties and environment. For this purpose, we have designed a comprehensive training to help you will the appropriate skills that will help you deal with any situation that may arise. We are conducting in-person training at the Alvarado Transportation Center at Central and 1st Street. With six different programs, training takes two days of four hours each for completion. When you are qualified to respond to this opportunity, you will get access to more detailed information and scheduling availability for the training. Initial spots for the program launch are limited. If you don't receive training information soon, you will in the near future. Thanks in advance for your patience and understanding.

The qualifications needed at this moment are listed at the bottom. If you haven't requested a background check yet, you will be prompted to complete it when you click on RESPOND at the top of this page. A pop-up window will appear that looks like this:

By doing this you can help us identify and associate your background check when the results come back. It can take 7-15 business days. The other forms that require your signature are approved immediately.
