We’re looking for friendly volunteers to help create a festive atmosphere by blowing up balloons, assembling balloon garlands, and assisting with décor setup for our New Year’s celebration.

What you’ll do:

Inflate balloons

Tie and sort balloons by size and color

Help assemble balloon arches, garlands, and table décor

Assist the décor team with general setup

Add creative touches to make the venue shine!

Description:
Help us share the joy of the season! We’re looking for warm-hearted volunteers to serve a festive Christmas lunch to local seniors. Duties include setting up tables, serving food, offering friendly conversation, and assisting with clean-up after the meal.

Volunteers must be 16+

Help make a difference in the lives of local seniors by volunteering with the Department of Senior Affairs (DSA) Nutrition Program. Our recreation centers promote senior wellness through nutritious daily meal services, offered Monday through Friday.

The Volunteers in Action (VIA) Program is currently seeking dedicated community members to assist with our nutrition services. Join a meaningful cause and contribute to a healthier, happier community!

Assisting with food preparation

Labeling food products for safe storage

Pulling products from refrigerators and freezers

Taking out trash and breaking down boxes

The Department of Senior Affairs, Nutrition Division is in need of volunteers to help our team prepare and distribute hot meals to seniors across Albuquerque every day from our central kitchen and other meal sites across the city of Albuquerque and Bernalillo County.

We are seeking one-time or ongoing volunteers to assist us on weekdays from 4:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

Key Responsibilities:

Transportation: Safely transport seniors to and from exciting destinations, including cultural events, recreational activities, and educational classes.

Meal Delivery: Deliver meals to homebound seniors, ensuring they have access to our community meal programs. Your kindness could be a lifeline.

Requirements:

A City Operators Permit (COP) is required to drive city vehicles. We’ll provide mandatory COP training, either in person or online.

The Department of Senior Affairs, Recreation Program is recruiting a new volunteer instructor to help people learn to navigate technology at North Domingo Baca Multigenerational Center!

If selected, you will lead weekly gatherings to teach tech basics to people in need (i.e. senior adults).

Preferred candidates will have knowledge spanning various devices as well as useful programs (Microsoft Excel, Word, Canva, etc.).

Participants are welcome to bring personal devices for demonstration purposes.
