Even though volunteers are not commissioned with sworn officer status, the duties that you will perform as part of the Department’s support staff are crucial to the Department. Sworn officers and civilian employees handle some of the administrative tasks with which you will be involved. By assisting with these tasks, you are releasing officers to handle higher priority calls for service, assisting civilian employees which will help them to serve in a pro-active capacity in the community.
