Thank you for volunteering for AFMX! The Festival will take place at multiple locations. You will be assigned where to go when you check in for your shift.
Ticket scanners & Venue Assistants will be positions that report to the Venue Manager (VM). The VM will assign volunteers to their positions at the beginning of each shift.
Below are the responsibilities of those positions
SKILLS: Strong customer service, positive attitude, and great communication skills. Able to stand, walk, and lift to 30 lbs.
TICKET SCANNERS:
- Assist attendees with exceptional customer service regarding festival logistics, schedule, and general information.
- Responsible for ensuring proper credentials or tickets are presented upon entry to each event.
- Reports to VM and is the first point of contact for guests entering the venue.

Scan and Sell tickets (training provided).
VENUE ASSISTANT - Assist with stage set-up for Q&A sessions and/or Center Stage Conversations.
- Coordinate with the VM and AV for opening the theater; if necessary, will hold patrons outside the theater until issues or problems are resolved inside the theater.
- Assist VM with passing microphones during Q&A.
- Clear theater for next event.
