Pets & Elderly Together Succeed Initiative

Description

Join the PETS Initiative: Help Seniors and Their Pets Thrive Together!

The Department of Senior Affairs (DSA), in partnership with the Animal Welfare Department, launched the PETS (Pets & Elderly Together Succeed) Initiative—and we need volunteers like YOU to make a real difference in our community!

Many seniors rely on their beloved pets for companionship, comfort, and joy. With your help, we can ensure they have the support they need to care for their furry family members.

Volunteer Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Pet Food: Pick up food supplies from the Eastside Animal Welfare Department and deliver them to the Senior Affairs Transportation Office.

  • Organize Supplies: Sort and organize pet food bags by delivery routes to prepare for distribution.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift boxes of pet food weighing up to 100 lbs.

Your time and effort will go a long way in helping seniors and their pets stay healthy, happy, and together.
