Hello Everyone!
We are happy to announce that the City of Albuquerque’s Open Space Division and BioPark will be hosting our annual Dia del Rio Volunteer Event on Saturday, October 17th from 9:00 – 12:00 at Tingley Beach. This will include activities such as trash cleanup, invasive plant species management, trail maintenance, etc. We will be meeting at the Tingley Beach Station where there will be some snacks, coffee, beverages. From there we will hear some general information and gather in to our respective groups for the projects. We will meet back at the station at 12:00 for more snacks, our raffle of prizes that have been generously donated, and our most interesting piece of trash contest! The weather in mid – October is usually pleasant with a cool start to the morning, so please dress appropriately. We also recommend wearing long pants and closed-toe shoes. Please remember to bring plenty of water and sunscreen, and anything else you may need. All tools, equipment, and trash bags will be provided by the Open Space Division and the BioPark. Parking at Tingley Beach usually fills up fast on a Saturday Morning so we recommend that you carpool as much as possible and try to get there early. Also, please remember to park in designated parking spots only to avoid the possibility of getting a parking citation.
We really hope you can join us and look forward to seeing you out there!
