Pledge Table and Wristband Support
Overview: Join us in celebrating Juneteenth and empowering teens through our "Dance Dance Dance: It's a Teen Thing" event. As a volunteer at the Pledge Table and Wristband Support station, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of our event by engaging with attendees, promoting our Summer of Non-Violence pledge, and distributing wristbands.
Responsibilities:
Pledge Table Engagement:
- Greet and welcome attendees to the pledge table.
- Explain the significance of Juneteenth and the importance of the pledge to promote awareness and solidarity.
- Encourage attendees to sign the Summer of Non-Violence pledge, outlining their commitment to understanding and celebrating African American history and culture.
- Provide information and answer any questions about the Summer of Non-violence pledge.
Wristband Distribution:
- Distribute event wristbands to attendees who sign the pledge.
- Ensure that wristbands are given out in an organized and efficient manner.
- Maintain a record of attendees who have received wristbands.
Support and Coordination:
- Assist with setting up and organizing the pledge table and wristband distribution area.
- Keep the pledge table area tidy and stocked with necessary materials (pledge forms, pens, wristbands, informational flyers).
- Collaborate with other volunteers and event staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Report any issues or concerns to the event coordinator promptly.
Promotional Activities:
- Promote other event activities and direct attendees to various stations and performances.
- Share information about upcoming events and opportunities for involvement within the community.
Requirements:
- Friendly and outgoing personality with strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively and engage with a diverse group of attendees.
- Reliable and punctual, with a commitment to the duration of your volunteer shift.
- Passion for community service and promoting cultural awareness.
