We’re looking for compassionate volunteers to assist our Resident Advocates in the shelter office. S.A.F.E. House is a nonprofit dedicated to supporting survivors of domestic violence through shelter, advocacy, and empowerment. Our volunteers play a vital role in making this possible.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Greets all residents in a kind, courteous, respectful manner.
2. Monitors access to the facility and manages gates while watching cameras.
3. Accurately tracks and logs the resident population.
4. Provides coverage of the crisis phone line and logs calls following agency policies.
5. Restock snacks and provide leftover meals for residents.
6. Provide toiletries and cleaning kits at the resident's request.

· Have the ability to read typescript.
· Speak and hear face-to-face.

· Frequently work in outside weather conditions.

· Stand, walk, lift, sit, bend, reach, kneel, or crouch.
· Lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
· Operate a computer.
· Use hands and fingers, handle and feel objects, tools or controls.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
*This opportunity will require a CYFD background check to be completed. This will cost $62 but S.A.F.E. House will reimburse you after you have completed at least 16 hours of volunteer work.
Please notice we have orientation for new volunteers every 1st Friday of the month. You will need to attend the orientation and be trained before being able to officially start the volunteer position. During orientation, we will submit your background check.
